A bona fide amassing of electronic music’s “who’s who,” Whethan’s recent release Life Of A Wallflower Vol. 1 features the likes of HONNE, Oh Wonder, and BROODS. But it’s the young man behind the boards, straddling the dark corners no more, taking his rightful place at center stage.

And most notably so on standout “Top Shelf,” an electroni-pop dandy that showcases the 19 year old’s production prowess in a major way. Boosted by a vocal assist from Bipolar Sunshine, the energetic cut kicks with a percussive onslaught and bassed out synths before ratcheting up the groove with electrifying dance breaks. It’s a winsome combination that marks some of the EP’s highest points as well as some of his highest accomplishments.
