If you would have told me comedic rapper and all around scamp Lil Dicky was going to be one of the loudest voices clamoring for action on climate change I would have dismissed you’re dubious claim and laughed in your face. But I would have been the fool. The performer-turned-activist is doing his part with “Earth,” an education effort on the damages our environment is facing with designs on reaching maximum exposure.
That’s in large part due to the massive amount of star power tapped for this electroni-pop produced call-to-action; to list everyone featured on this track would take the effort of the world-class graphic designers behind your favorite festival’s lineup poster. Outside of the A-list producers Benny Blanco and Cashmere, you’ve got your top bills like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, rhymers Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, crooners Shawn Mendes and Charlie Puth, and about two dozen more all lending their unique voices to this worthwhile endeavor. Oh yeah, Leonardo DiCaprio checks in too.
But not to be outdone, our daring curator is at his most melodic here. Between verses, Dicky drops some dulcet tones in the impassioned chorus only to climax with a stirring salvo tieing this hodge-podge of awesome awareness together. Do yourself a favor and heed his warning by learning more about the We Love The Earth project.
