Classic never goes out of style. So it’s fitting to see EDM icon Don Diablo fulfilling that maxim on his latest “Never Change.”
Dusting off the 1998 2Pac smash “Changes” [which itself was an interpolation of “The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby a decade previous], the master musicmaker incorporates the true hip-pop composition of the cover into a future house hustle that not only ups the bpm, but ups the nostalgic energy and wistful excitement. Timeless in any iteration, really.
