The household bedroom can take on many a function when given the chance; a calming sanctuary at times, playground of the imagination, and even a place to sleep in some cases. But as far as 19 year old singer-songwriter Elior’s is concerned, it serves as the fertile sound-lab for his latest release “Try (Again).”
First offering since impressing with his DIY EP Kid in a Bathroom, this smooth serenade pores over the toxicity of one-sided relationships through an alt-R&B lens. Pillowy synths and a simple piano line mix up with steadying percussion to set the tone before the young soloist turns his tender vocals loose, showcasing a vulnerability that is felt with each earnest note. Yep, it’s another success story for bedroom producers everywhere.
