Depression is often considered a taboo subject in polite society, but…fuck that bullshit. Discussing mental health is, well, healthy. So it’s a pleasure to shine a light on the issue whenever possible. Enter Cali creative Norii and her single born out of a bleak episode, “Vow To You.”

Written as if she was the one guiding a friend through the darkness, the art-pop production slow burns for a verse before switching gears, shifting to a more danceable experience. But it’s the catharsis that plays out in the lyrics that stands out as the cut’s big takeaway. Sometimes music really can be the best cure-all.
