With close to what seems like a billion streams in its first week of release, Beyoncé’s seventh studio album Renaissance has been heard and heard some more. So instead of an album retread highlighting standout moments like “CUFF IT,” “CHURCH GIRL,” and “COZY,” DH is shining the spotlight on last, but not least, track “SUMMER RENAISSANCE.”
As house as you can get on an album full of four-on-the-floor beats, the final cut completes the long-player’s charge of reviving black dance music. A Donna Summer sample serves as the rhythmic bassline before contemporary-tuned disco loops and Bey’s irresistible vocals leave you in a 70s-esque trance. To sample the chorus line:
It’s so good, it’s so good, it’s so good, it’s so good, it’s soooo…good
