Tjaka – Break It Down

I bet you never heard it sound like this.

That lyric fulfills its promise on “Break It Down,” the electronic/hip-hop hybrid from Brisbane trio Tjaka.

Incorporating the use of a didjeribone (a didjeridoo that slides) with more traditional hip-hop leanings, First Nations members Geoff and Jake Fabila and their friend Felix Fogarty have created an uncommon sound and special homage to the brothers’ heritage.

The mix is a bold display of fast-paced rhythms and equally quick flows, all with an ear towards creating a moment that bridges the gap between old and new.

Mission accomplished.
