It’s all in Rêve as the Canadian soloist calls on a faction of famous females for encouragement on her latest “Whitney.”
It’s a “who’s who?” of pop culture icons as Marilyn, Lucy, and Jackie O are name-dropped on the dance-pop piece but it’s the titular label that serves most importantly. That’s thanks to a decidedly contemporary interpolation of “I’m Every Woman,” the Chaka Khan original made famous by the one and only Whitney Houston. It’s a true testament to her talent and frankly, a fun listen.
