With a name like Texas King you might be surprised to learn this trio of rockers from London, Ontario are producing power ballads instead of powerful country music but that’s where the surprises end as these three turn out a certified chart-topper with “Whatever You Break.”

Tackling the issue of cyclic toxicity, the alt-rock’d number is a sign of hope as the band incorporates sincerity and candor in their brand of music-making. Speaking on the process, vocalist Jordan MacDonald shares:

This new song is about the constant struggle in life to escape from and set boundaries with the relationships in our lives that are toxic, whether it be a family member, a lover or an old friend. Because you still care, they draw you back in. This song is about that vicious cycle.
