As a vocal advocate and sometimes consumer of mental health counseling, DH will always shine a light on acts out there promoting their own takes on support. So it’s a pleasure to write one up on Oregon trio We Three and their latest “In Therapy.”
A raw and honest introspection by frontman Manny Humlie, the alt-pop cut ties together subtle but crisp instrumentation and lyricism drawn from an encounter at one of The 1975′ [probably epic] shows; the vocalist lets us know he’s a “jealous little piece of shit” when it comes to the idea of losing a partner to another frontman in Matty Healy [I get it].
But that frank candor alongside tender musicality builds into a generous auditory experience as an impromptu jam session rounds out this poignant piece of music-making.
