Home Counties – Bethnal Green

In concert with their recent signing to Submarine Cat Records, UK six-set Home Counties usher in a new era with their effervescent tune “Bethnal Green.”

Taken from the name of the London neighborhood the band now call home, this synths-pop single marks a shift in their sound as a dance-driven melody, full of sprightly rhythms, replaces their more organic guitar-rich roots. Recalling a moment in their process, vocalist Will Harrison shares:

When I first showed it to the guys I was like, ‘Oh you won’t like this, it’s just some crap pop thing I’ve come up with. But then immediately everyone was into it. It felt good that we could do this sort of song; it really opened up what was ‘acceptable.’

Don’t knock it until you try it, right?
