For anyone that heads home solo after a night out, The Cheap Thrills have your adulatory anthem.
“Last Orders,” appearing on the UK s Feb. 21 EP Mind Metro, is a fun alt-rock romp celebrating the effort of those who try but don’t succeed in landing a lasting kinship after an evening lurking for love. A propulsive pace marks the tone while airy synths and riffs intertwine before the big, sing-a-long chorus spills out onto the streets of Liverpool. Frontperson Lewis Pike explains:
It’s a song about the worst time of the best nights, the thrill of the chase. [It] explores the comedy and tragedy of going home alone. You don’t find love on a Friday night.
Let’s all commiserate with a listen.
