It’s been nearly two decades since one of pop music’s great pioneers provided fans with original music, but it was well worth the wait after listening to “Turn the Lights Back On” from the esteemed icon Billy Joel.

Full disclosure: it’s a full circle moment for Digital High, as the legendary piano man was the first live concert I ever experienced [all the way back in 1998]. So it brings me great pleasure to open up his wonderful process to fans both nascent and longtime.

The new ballad is classic Joel, tactful keys and poignant lyricism, but it’s one of the meaningful message permeating throughout that lands so strongly: it’s never too late to right wrongs. And, oh yeah, it’s never too late to get back to masterful music-making.
