Ahead of his debut EP The Wes Scott Project release [out Oct. 25], Long Island singer+songwriter Wes Scott is all kinds of introspective on his new single “In My Head.”

The alt-pop affair, melodic and meaningful, is a curative experience for anyone stuck in their own way. Edgier, rock rhythmics pace the project before the silver-tongued soloist recounts a profound realization, but I’ll let him explain:

In my worst moments, I realized in self-reflection I was stuck in my own head…I brought myself to be stuck and I just had enough. This song was just a form of letting that out.
