Sweaty, alt-indie charm is having a moment as Liverpool’s Circa Waves pay homage to the idea on new spin “Like You Did Before.”
First imagined as a way to cope with the unpredictability of life, this bouncy affair [taken from next month’s release Death & Love Pt.1, is pure dancefloor destruction as a relentless underpinning of unbroken rhythm grabs hold and doesn’t let go until that final, breathless note. Speaking on the message behind the music, frontman Kieran Shudall shares:
This song is a reminder of a moment in my life that many people don’t know about. Just before my heart operation lying in hospital when life felt uncertain and fragile, I would imagine myself in a packed sweaty indie club, dancing like my life depended on it. It was a daydream, a form of escape and this song fits perfectly into that vision.
