Josiah and the Bonnevilles – “Carolina Heart”

Josiah Leming is the mind behind Josiah and the Bonnevilles. And Josiah and the Bonnevilles is the act responsible for the nostalgia-linked listen that is “Carolina Heart.”

An effortless mesh of folk and Americana, this alt-coded cut about the cliche’d “one that got away” is anything but. Uncommon chord progressions and a unique vocality tell the story of lost love and heartache colored through the lens of the Tar Heel state’s wonder. And as someone who spent their undergrad years in the Triad – I can personally attest to the beauty of and longing for this state possesses.

It’s a beautiful song for a beautiful moment. And it can be found on the newly minted LP As Is alongside nine other sentimental stories.
