Pop-punk princess So Good, known for proactive lyricism and in-your-face energy, is leaning into the poppier side of things on her new tune “Orange Juice & Milk” and it fuggin’ works.
A sarcastic love song written for anyone who’s been told to “calm down,” the alt-pop piece feels like a conventional bop at first but is dripping with confidence and edge as the cut carries on its acerbic course. The East London soloist explains:
There’s something really visceral about the combination of orange juice & milk, & having now tried several combinations of the two, I can confirm that they taste awful & really don’t go together…So when the song says, ‘we go together like orange juice & milk’; you can see where I’m coming from.
See? That’s just science speaking.
