Boston trio Tiny Habits are enjoying the earned successes of their sophomore studio project Keepers, rightfully so, thanks to its catalog of charmers led by the exceedingly enamoring “Love Ruins Everything.”
Eschewing their regular, folk-pop sound, a funky soul arrangement leads the way of this alt-pop opine on the vicious cycle of falling in love. Disco-lite rhythms set pace while the bass and horn sections chime in and not to be overshadowed are the three-part harmonies from Cinya Khan, Maya Rae, and Judah Mayowa. Their voices blend effortlessly and add a layer of purposeful vocality.
It’s a little cheeky but a lot of fun.
