Over a Rahki crafted sample of the Isley Brother’s soul-funk classic “That Lady”, Kendrick ebbs and flows in his usual expeditious pace, only letting up to deliver the cocksure hook of “I love myself”. And while swaggadocio is nothing new in hip-hop, it’s welcomed here as it jibes with the overall message of deeper confidence in one’s self.
