Mumford & Sons – The Wolf

London’s folk-turned-rock quartet Mumford & Sons are following up the disheartening Wilder Mind lead single “Believe” with another arena-rock about-face. “The Wolf” follows in the same alt-rock fashion we’re not used to, thunderous drum patterns and roaring guitar riffs, but I’m not completely confounded as I once was. And thanks to their blissfully reassuring harmonies this second single is sitting rather well with me.

Still, this musical metamorphosis feels like those rebellious teen years we all put our parents through. Here’s to hoping the lads figure themselves out and find their way home again. In the meantime you can pre-order Wilder Mind now, set for release May 4th.
