It’s been a long four years since the always evolving [but never disappointing] Paramore have rewarded fans with a serving of original material, but that’s all changed with the release of their retro-vibing latest “Hard Times.”

Lead single off of their just announced fifth album After Laughter, the ’80s influenced cut bursts with marimba-tinged percussive elements and glamorous synth layers before taking on full fledged disco-rock riffs and rhythms. It’s a brave new direction for the rock-pop pop-rockers but one they’re fully capable of seeing through to the prosperous end.
