Described in a similar vein to foremost dream-pop acts LANY and The 1975, Steven Rutherford and Alan Thomas, or as the mom-jean enthusiasts are better known, joan, live up to the hype on their latest “Love Somebody Like You.”
A gorgeous synth-driven number dealing in the doldrums of love-sickness, the Arkansas-based music-makers’ second single delights amidst the melancholic subtext. Rich percussive grooves coalesce around beautifully mastered synthesizers inspired by decades passed, lending themselves to the melodic overreach of the cut.
