With the Thanksgiving revelry finally behind us, I’m ready to officially get on board with the Christmas season and all its associated merriment now. And particularly the chief accessory today; music.

Here in the nation’s capital, WPGC 95.5 FM is one of the area’s top radio stations and has been for over twenty years so you could call them an authority on talent evaluation. This year they’ve curated a second Volume of holiday-themed song, Living The Dream During The Holidays, featuring a bevy of local acts including a Digital High pillar.

Track number two, “I’m Not Coming Home for Christmas,” is a funky R&B-tinged groover from Adam E and your new Xmas jam. Over a full-bodied bounce, the velvety vocalist drops verse after pointed verse letting a former flame know they’re not any part of his holiday plans. Harsh words maybe, but when delivered so smoothly they don’t sound so salty after all.
