Released on this manufactured holiday morning, “The Longest Year” is a scathing take on the societal ills that plagued 2018. From the realities of climate change to polarizing MAGA chants, our bleak-minded barb reminds us of the trying twelve months with her forthright lyricism and melancholic refrain.

And just as the last year concluded, there is no happy ending here. She caps her anti-ode off with the line “Oh here we go again into another longest year.”

Yay.
