BTS’ current album Map Of The Soul: 7 just hit number one on Billboard’s 200 Chart, their fourth in less than two years to do so, due in large part to its accessible array of multi-genre’d bops.
Hitting that home most noticeably is the funky J-Hope fronted closer “Outro: Ego”. A rhythmic rumination on the ebbs and flows of the boy-bander’s rapid rise to success, the cut flourishes in its old-school cadence and surprisingly candid lyricism. This is BTS’ world, we’re all just living in it.
