Well hot damn if Valley haven’t penned one of the year’s most wholesome tunes in “Last Birthday.”

A pop bop declaring a lifelong commitment to a loved one (even if they don’t feel the same in the end), this song is special. A fairly traditional sonic framework sets the scene but it’s in the earnest lyrical composition where the cut really takes off; baggage claim, shitty dates, and last name changes are no match for the Toronto four-set.

Time for a collective “Awwww.”
