Pop punk may have had its heyday in the early 2000s, but with bands like State Champs still out there the genre is doing just fine.
Take the NYC four-set’s collaboration “Act Like That” for instance. Off of their newly released Kings Of The New Age, it’s your standard, raucous fare but the addition of country singer Mitchell Tenpenny for a climactic verse vaults this already good cut into the great conversation. The emotion-rich soundscape, built melodically and methodically, swells in support of the pivotal moment leaving listeners undoubtedly satisfied.
