It’s been a relatively quiet start to the new year for Calvin Harris. Outside of the announcement that he’d be extending his Las Vegas residency through 2020 there hasn’t been much in the way of genuine buzz; until this afternoon.
Teaming up with PARTYNEXTDOOR for a second time, the two unleash the “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready,” a low-key departure from the post-disco-pop sound the two created last time around.
Forgoing the funk wav style that dominated 2017 for him, the Swedish hitmaker instead relies on a 90s house approach that manages to mix it up with a contemporary trop twist. And with tinges of brass adding texture to the otherwise dampened cadence, the original sets itself out on a path of uncharted sonics.
