On the first of the month The 1975 launched a cryptic countdown pointing to today’s climax. We’ll the zero hour is finally here in the form of new single “Give Yourself A Try.”

No stranger to the BBC Radio 1 studios, the band sat in with Annie Mac today who premiered the new cut as her Hottest Record In The World. “As advertised” comes to mind after a first listen. Lo-fi pop at its core, the tune grapples with honest self-reflection through searing riffs, persistent drum patterns, and earnest vocal runs that hearken back to their EP days.

The boys also revealed plans for two brand new albums in the next twelve months, the previously announced A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships due out in October and a second unnamed, unfinished album set for next May.
