Digital High’s Top 20 of 2018 [15 – 11]

Digital High’s Top 20 of 2018 [20 – 16]
20.“Finesse (Remix)”Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B
19.“Cool”Felix Jaehn ft. Marc E. Bassy & Gucci Mane
18.“I Found You”benny blanco & Calvin Harris
17.“Welcome To The Family”Watsky
16.“Put You On”Amber Mark ft. DRAM

15. “Side Effects”The Chainsmokers ft. Emily Warren
2018 saw The Chainsmokers take up a darker, downtempo sound on their album Sick Boy, save for a few slick tracks like this Emily Warren assisted piece. The collaboration was bursting at the seams with charged rhythms and an impassioned vocal take not seen much anywhere else this year.

14. “One Shot”Hunter Hayes
Country rarely gets any love on these pages, but when it’s as good as this Hunter Hayes’ hit I’ll give credit where credit is due. Plus it doesn’t hurt that its the ideal version of sex for me, with an attractive blonde and done under three minutes.

13. “Hey Look Ma, I Made It”Panic! At The Disco
Probably one of the more upbeat bops on this year’s list, this PATD cut charmed listeners over with electrifying riffs, a bouncy bassline, and an undeniably catchy hook. And the Muppet-ized visuals? They only added to the allure.

12. “seattle”Lesser Bay ft. Lowell Oakley
It’s safe to say that if Lesser Bay is releasing new material, some will inevitably end up on the countdown. This year’s honors fall to a tune full of invigorating bounce and a scintillating vocal feature. Here’s to hoping the same holds true for 2019.

11. “Worst Nites”Foster The People
Released late in the game, this Foster The People jam stood out for its electro rhythms propped up by funky licks, glitzy synths, and an unflagging percussive element. Bracket that with Mark Foster’s glitched out falsetto and you’re left with an instantly likable listen and easy radio hit.
